At Custom Glaze we are committed to safeguarding the privacy of our website visitors and customers and being open and honest about the information we collect from you and what we do with it. This policy is in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003.  This privacy notice sets out how we will treat your personal information, all information you supply us with will only be used as detailed below.

When do we collect your personal information?

We collect your personal information at the following times:

  1. Completion of a contact form on our website.
  2. When using the ‘get an online quote’ tool, powered by Allchecked.co.uk
  3. Enquiry over the phone in order to obtain a quote.
  4. Enquiry in the show room in order to obtain a quote.
  5. When entering into a contract with us.

When obtaining a quote, the information you provide is not passed on to any other company. The information you provide including your name, address, phone number and email address will only be used by our sales and marketing representatives to assist you with your quote.

You are able to get an instant online quote by clicking on the ‘get an online quote’ button.  This online tool is powered by Allchecked.co.uk.  The form requires the following personal information to be entered: name, phone number, house number and postcode.  Your details are stored securely in an encrypted database over a secure SSL connection on UK based hardware.  Your details are only accessed by Custom Glaze staff members and are not passed on to any other companies.  Please contact us if you would like to see the data collected using this tool, or have it deleted.

In addition we may collect the following information:

Information about your browser type, referral source, number of page views via cookies. This information is only used for analysis purposes to improve and develop our website; it does not contain any personal data or information about you. Most browsers allow you to accept or reject cookies. Please refer to the help section on your browser for information on changing your browser settings.

What personal Information do we collect?

At Custom Glaze we will collect the following information about you:

Title, initial, surname, correspondence address and postcode, fitting address and postcode, telephone number and email address.  Supplying your email address is optional.   It is necessary for us to hold this information in a database to enable us to efficiently process and install your order.

What is our lawful basis for processing your data under the GDPR?

Our lawful basis for processing your personal data is: ‘contract’. The processing of your personal data is necessary in order to fulfil our contractual obligations or to provide you with a ‘quote’ or because you have asked Custom Glaze to take specific steps before entering into a contract.  It is necessary for Custom Glaze to collect your personal information to contact you regarding the products or services you have requested, to deliver these products or services to the correct address and finally to collect payment for these products or services.

Who do we share your information with?

Once you have entered into a contract with us, it is necessary to pass on limited personal information to some of our suppliers to fulfil the contract we have with you, this will happen in the event that we require deliveries of building materials from our suppliers straight to your fitting address.

Custom Glaze also pass on personal data to the following companies as part of our contractual obligation and to comply with the law:

 

FENSA

FENSA are responsible for sending our customers a FENSA certificate and for liaising with the local authority.  FENSA stands for the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme. This is a scheme set up to ensure that all windows and doors comply with building regulations. It enables Custom Glaze to certify that installations comply with building regulations without the need for a local authority inspection.   The personal data we share with FENSA is the following: title, initial, surname, correspondence address and postcode, installation address and postcode, phone number and email address. Supplying your email address is optional.    This data is required for the purposes of fulfilling the requirements of the Competent Person Scheme for self-certification under the Building Regulations and will be used to provide essential documentation.  Your personal information will be retained by FENSA for the lifetime of the warranty which does not exceed 10 years.  For more information please see FENSA’s privacy notice.

HomePro LTD

Custom Glaze uses HomePro Ltd to insure your deposits and provides cover for our warranty for up to 10 years, HomePro are responsible for underwriting, administration and claims handling.  In order to provide the necessary cover for you we need to provide HomePro with the following personal data: title, initial, surname, correspondence address and postcode, installation address and postcode, phone number and email address (email address is optional).  HomePro will retain this information for 11 years, this is to cover the lifetime of the warranty which is up to 10 years with an additional 1 year to cover any disputes that may arise.  HomePro may need to provide your personal information to other companies such as solicitors, surveyors or repairers in order to provide you with their services.  For more information please see HomePro’s privacy notice.

Building Control Consultants

In the event that your installation requires registration for building control, which is a requirement by law, we are required to provide the following personal details to them: title, initial, surname, correspondence address and postcode, installation address and postcode, phone number and email address (email address is optional).  The building control consultants are also required to provide your personal details to your local authority.

 

How long does Custom Glaze need to store your personal data for?

It is necessary for Custom Glaze to retain personal data to fulfil our contractual obligations with regards to the warranty we issue our customers.  We also retain this information after your warranty has expired to ensure we are able to deal with any queries you have in a professional manner; for example re ordering of components or parts specific to your original order.

 

Letting us know if your personal information is incorrect

You have the right to question any information we have about you that you think is wrong or incomplete. Please contact us if you want to do this.
If you do, we will take reasonable steps to check its accuracy and correct it.

 

How to get a copy of your personal information

You can access your personal information we hold by requesting it in writing at the following address:

You will need to verify your identity and specify what information you require.

Information will be provided as soon as possible and at the latest within one month of receipt.

How do I lodge a complaint?

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you are unhappy about any aspect of our business.

Do you create new personal information?

At Custom Glaze we do not create new personal information.  Also we do not use automated decision making or carryout profiling on the personal data we hold.

We strive to ensure the security, integrity and privacy of personal information submitted to our site, and we review and update our security measures in light of current technologies. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be totally secure.  We will treat your data with the utmost care and take all appropriate steps to protect it.  We have implemented a number of security measures to protect your data from the following:

  • Unauthorised or unlawful processing.
  • Accidental loss, destruction or damage.
